A quick hello
Well folks, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I don’t personally care much for the holiday itself; I see it as a great excuse to get together with family, make good food, and enjoy a long weekend. It’s not often that I get to cook for crowds, and I really love it. Creating nourshing food from scratch and then watching your friends and family enjoy it is one of life’s great pleasures for me. Sure, I like feeding my husband (not, like, with a spoon…), but he’s, well, my husband. After you’re married for more than seven years, dinner stops being special or even particularly interesting. It is just part of the daily routine. But days like Thanksgiving? That’s a time to really pull out all the stops! Though I may stress out a bit, it is totally worth it in the end.
Oh, and it’s also a great time to be really bad and eat tons of ::gasp:: refined white sugar and ::oh!:: evil white flour. Homemade white bread for the stuffing, pasteurized AND homogenized cream for the dessert, and even (brace yourself) Pizza Hut for dinner the night before. So bad, yet so good. Yup, even real food folks have to cheat once in a while. But we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled whole food selves soon, right after this short break.
P.S. This is my first post sent from the Blogger phone app, so sorry if it’s a bit wonky.
